The tragedy in Tucson, which brought all three evening news anchors to Arizona for several days last week, helped draw U.S. viewers to those shows.
“NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was #1 topping 10M Total Viewer average for the week. Williams spent the most time in Tucson, for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday broadcasts as well as contributing to MSNBC and hosting a “Dateline” special the day after the shootings. The “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric” was up the most week-to-week — +13% in Total Viewers, while ABC “World News with Diane Sawyer” had its most-watched telecast in 2 Years last Tuesday.
