Evening News Ratings: Week of April 2

ABC World News Tonight with David Muir continues to post year-over-year audience growth, and finished the week of April 2 as the most-watched evening newscast. World News defeated NBC Nightly News by 485,000 total viewers (+6 percent).

Compared to the same week in 2017, WNT was +4 percent in total viewers and +2 percent in A25-54 viewers, and is posting its largest total viewer lead over NBC in 22 years.

Anchored by Lester Holt, NBC Nightly News edged ABC World News last week by +21,000 demo viewers (+1 percent). NBC’s flagship newscast has defeated its competition among adults 25-54 137 of the past 140 weeks, and is the most-watched evening newscast of the current season among younger news viewers. Nightly News was -2 percent in total viewers, but stayed flat in demo viewers versus last year.

The CBS Evening News with Jeff Glor was -1 percent in total viewers, and -6 percent in demo viewers versus the comparable week in 2017.
