The CBS Evening News announced the hiring of Pat Milton to its investigative unit. Milton, an award-winning journalist with The Associated Press, joins the group headed by chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian.
Milton, whose law license allows her to practice in front of the Supreme Court (now that’s handy for an investigative journalist), led AP’s coverage of the 1996 explosion of TWA Flight 800 off the coast of Long Island. For CBS, Milton secured the first TV interview with undercover FBI agent Jack Garcia, who became only the second law enforcement officer in history to be offered membership in the mafia.
