EasonGate?

By Brian

Several e-mailers have asked why I haven’t covered the Eason Jordan controversy that has been churning in the blogosphere (Google for the details). “Are you protecting Eason Jordan to preserve your access?,” an e-mailer asks. The short answer is no.

(That’s the long answer, too.) In the first days of the story, I wasn’t convinced that Jordan’s comments had been viewed in context. After all, no transcript or video has surfaced. But the story continues to gain momentum — and with this morning’s Howard Kurtz piece, it’s going “mainstream.” Technorati has a thousand blogger links to Eason-related posts. Instapundit has been all over it. Bloggers are beginning to call it “EasonGate…”
