Sean Hannity will sit down for an exclusive in-studio interview with Donald Trump Jr. today to discuss his meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya. This comes as Donald Trump Sr. comments on the controversy surrounding his son.
“My son is a high-quality person and I applaud his transparency,” Pres. Trump said in a statement read by White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Trump Jr.’s interview tapes later today and will air on Hannity’s Fox News program tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
This sit-down comes just hours after Trump Jr. tweeted out an email chain from June 2016 showing he was offered “high level and sensitive information” as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”
The emails show that a person described as a Russian government attorney had “official documents and information” that would “incriminate” Hillary Clinton “and be very useful to your father.”
“If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer,” Trump Jr. responded.
Here are the emails:

The New York Times first broke the news of last summer’s meeting over the weekend. One of the authors, Adam Goldman, said Trump Jr. tweeted out the email chain just minutes before the Times was set to publish its latest story.

Here’s how Hannity is reacting to the forthcoming interview.
Reruns of Yogi Bear are beating @CNN Fake News. Great job Zucker. Keep it up! Best part they will be running MY INTERVIEW ALL DAY TOMORROW!! https://t.co/OvScHtPxKt

Some media reporters appear to be skeptical about the types of questions Hannity will ask.
“Donald, the FAKE NEWS accepts leaks all the time. Why is it, the second the Russians offer to leak to you, they act like it’s a crime?” https://t.co/RYJW0gDN30

We will find out for sure tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
