Nearly 17 years since the massacre at Columbine High School, the mother of one of the attackers will speak publicly for the first time.

Sue Klebold, the mother of Columbine shooter Dylan Klebold, gives her first TV interview to Diane Sawyer. “Silence Broken: A Mother’s Reckoning,” is a special edition of 20/20 airing Friday night at 10 p.m. Klebold discusses her experience in her memoir, “A Mother’s Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy,” which will be released Feb. 15. The 20/20 special examines the impact of and lessons from that day, April 20, 1999 as Sawyer reports on teenage mental health and potential clues that could help a parent learn if their child is in crisis.
