Daryn Kagan’s ‘Big Salad Bowl’

By Alissa Krinsky

Daryn Kagan, profiled in today’s New Orleans Times-Picayune, discusses life post-CNN, which includes her website, darynkagan.com. “‘The big question I get is, ‘How do you make money on a Web site?’ she said. ‘The answer is, I don’t have a Web site. I have a media company. It’s a like a big salad bowl.’

That bowl includes television production, speaking engagements, a new book, and more.

Her approach was inspired, Kagan says in the article, by fellow multimedia journalist Kevin Sites of “Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone“.

Speaking of which… Sites tells TV Newser he’s got a book due out in October (are you keeping track of all the forthcoming TV journo tomes?), titled “In the Hot Zone: One Man, One Year, Twenty Wars”.
