Former CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather will launch a new weekly show on Sirius XM Radio, Dan Rather’s America, debuting September 27 at 10 a.m. ET.
The new show follows Rather’s reporting for Sirius in July during the Republican and Democratic conventions. “Dan Rather’s America will debut the morning after the first presidential debate, and will feature the news icon’s fresh commentary and analysis of one of the most anticipated political events in recent American history,” said a Sirius statement, describing the show as a mix of newsmaker interviews, Rather’s analysis, and questions called in from listeners.
“I’m pinching myself that Dan has agreed to lend his iconic voice to my channel,” said Andy Cohen, whose Radio Andy channel will host the show. “Now more than ever, I’m hungry to hear his thoughts and reflections about what’s going on in the world.”
