Cronkite: Couric’s “As Good As Ever”

Fox News’ Roger Friedman writes about his conversation yesterday with Walter Cronkite. Among the topics of discussion? Katie Couric. “I think she’s as good as ever,” Cronkite said. “And better than the show she’s on.” Friedman says Cronkite “does think the broadcast has improved in recent weeks.”

“I asked Cronkite if Katie wouldn’t benefit from Bob Schieffer being her Eric Sevareid and providing commentary at the end of the show,” Friedman continues. “He lit up like a Christmas tree. ‘Yes, Schieffer is excellent,’ he said.”
