“Corrt TV’s Catherine Crier has canceled her book party, scheduled for tomorrow, in light of Hurricane Katrina — feeling that it was in appropriate to celebrate in light of the tragedy,” Michael Starr notes. “Crier has decided to allocate all funds that would’ve gone to the party to the hurricane victims and has requested her publisher to donate a portion of proceeds from her new book, ‘Contempt: How the Right is Wronging American Justice,’ to the ongoing relief/rescue efforts.”
