Couric & Stephanopoulos Interview Tony Blair Tomorrow

CBS’s press release was correct at the time. “CBS News Anchor Katie Couric is scheduled to conduct an interview with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Washington, D.C.,” it said this morning. “The interview is a network evening news exclusive and will be broadcast Thursday.”

But this afternoon, ABC one-upped CBS, announcing: “This Week anchor and Chief Washington Correspondent George Stephanopoulos will conduct an interview with British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Thursday, December 7th at the British Embassy in Washington, DC.”

Couric’s interview is technically exclusive because it’s being taped for the CBS Evening News. ABC’s interview will air on Sunday’s This Week — but excerpts will air on Thursday’s World News, making Couric’s interview a little less exclusive…
