Donald Trump‘s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is thankful his boss installed cameras all over his Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla. Lewandowski is convinced it was those security videos that led to a decision by the state of Florida not to prosecute him for simple battery.

“This could be a completely different story,” Lewandowski told Sean Hannity in his first interview since today’s decision not to go forward with the criminal case. “I’m thankful he invested the money necessary to get that video and turn it over to the police at his own request because he knew the video would exonerate me.”

Lewandowski said he never met Michelle Fields before the incident on March 8 as Trump made a campaign stop in Palm Beach County and hasn’t talked to her since. “My sum total of that relationship with her was about three seconds long,” he said. Fields and Lewandowski agreed the whole incident could have been avoided. She said early on an apology that night would have been enough. He claimed all along the interaction wasn’t criminal.

“I’m sorry this has become the story it is today,” Lewandowski said. “I’m glad it’s behind us,

Hannity asked Lewandowski if he’d try and “break bread” with Fields. “I’m open to everything,” he said. “I don’t need enemies, I need friends.”
