By Brian Flood

CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker is preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving, but first he sent an e-mail to staffers. Zucker acknowledges the state of news, his employees working through the holiday and journalists reporting from dangerous places. We didn’t notice at first, but Zucker either has a time machine or accidentally dated the email 2016. TVNewser has obtained the memo, check it out:

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving here in the United States, I want to take a moment to offer my own thanks to all of you, especially those working for us in some of the most dangerous parts of the world.

The news of late has been a sober reminder of the times we are living in and the new realities that ordinary citizens face every day.  As journalists, we often find ourselves in places that many are desperately trying to leave. It is a tremendous responsibility, and one that is felt by not only those of you that do it, but by the people around you who know and love you.

So this Thanksgiving, I just want you to know, whether you are out in the field or at home working around the clock to keep our audiences informed, that I am most sincerely grateful for all the sacrifices you make. For those of you celebrating, may the day bring you some well-deserved rest and time with family and friends. And for those working through these next few days, thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Jeff
