The Headline News studio is relatively close to the public atrium of the CNN Center. Imagine being at the anchor desk, in a commercial break, when staffers tell you they just heard gunfire.
“A lot of nerves are rattling here at the CNN Center now on the news that two people have been wounded in a shooting right here at the CNN Center,” Christi Paul said on the air. “Just a few minutes ago, some of our crew ran in here screaming because they heard multiple gunshots. They saw police running frantically to the first level.”
