CNN to Host Libertarian Candidates Town Hall

By Chris Ariens

You thought we were done with political town halls? Not so fast.

CNN announced today that Chris Cuomo will host the Libertarian Party’s presidential candidate Gary Johnson and vice presidential candidate William Weld one week from tonight, at 9 p.m. ET.

Johnson and Weld, once both popular Republican governors of New Mexico and Massachusetts, respectively, will take questions from voters at CNN’s New York headquarters at Time Warner Center. Back in April, Fox Business Network’s John Stossel hosted a forum with the then-three Libertarian presidential candidates: Johnson, tech software entrepreneur John McAfee, and Libertarian Republic founder Austin Petersen.

In a new Bloomberg poll among likely voters, Johnson is at 9 percent to Hillary Clinton‘s 49 percent and Donald Trump’s 37 percent.

This will be CNN’s 11th town hall during the 2016 election season.
