CNN Responds to Lawsuit Threat

By Chris Ariens

A CNN spokesperson tells TVNewser they are standing by “Campaign Killers” in the midst of a threatened lawsuit over the Campbell Brown documentary. CNN spokesperson Christa Robinson tells TVNewser, “These claims are baseless. CNN stands behind the program and the reporters involved.”

In a story first reported by FishbowlDC, the group Citizens United called the documentary a “highly unprofessional hit piece” and threatened legal action.

Brown responded to TVNewser last week saying she is “glad” the “documentary is generating discussion among those that it portrayed.” Meanwhile, CNN tells us Brown is working on her second doc for the network. The report on this week’s NIE report and Iran’s nuclear ambitions will air Saturday night at 10pmET and again Sunday night at 10pmET.
