CNN is sticking up for White House correspondent Jim Acosta as the veteran corespondent continues to take a public lashing from incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
This all began last Wednesday after Pres.-elect Trump’s news conference during which Acosta tried to ask a question but was called “fake news” by Trump. That night Spicer went on Fox News and said, “I think Mr. Acosta owes the president-elect and frankly the entire press corps an apology for his childish and inappropriate behavior.”
“As we have learned many times, just because Sean Spicer says something doesn’t make it true,” a CNN spokesperson says. “Jim Acosta is a veteran reporter with the utmost integrity and extensive experience in covering both the White House and the President-elect. Being persistent and asking tough questions is his job, and he has our complete support.”
