CNN Early Start Co-Host Dave Briggs Will Host Daily Live Sports Podcast on the New Radio.com Sports Digital Network

By A.J. Katz

Many in the television news industry know Dave Briggs from his present role as co-anchor of CNN Early Start, and a previous stint on Fox & Friends Weekend.

In between his arrival at CNN in 2017 and his departure from Fox News in 2012, Briggs worked at NBCSN where he was host of Fantasy Football Live, NBC Sports Update and NHL Live among other programs.

Briggs is heading back to the world of sports media (but not leaving CNN), with a new live podcast he’s co-hosting with former NFL offensive lineman and a current sports broadcaster Ross Tucker on the new Radio.Com Sports Digital Network, named Home and Home hosted by Ross Tucker and Dave Briggs.

Home and Home will launch in September and air Monday through Friday live from 8 – 11 a.m. ET on the new Entercom-owned audio and video sports platform, which launches Aug. 19.

The digital network will launch with over 65 hours of daily, live programming available exclusively on the RADIO.COM platform in both audio and video. In addition, short-form, on-demand versions of these shows will be distributed in real time through leading podcast distribution services. The podcast product offering will also feature four weekly podcasts, with more to be announced soon.

In addition, the network will serve as the digital play-by-play home for Notre Dame and Clemson football and basketball.

Advertisers such as ZipRecruiter and HIMS have committed as launch partners of the new network.

This news comes off of today’s announcement that Entercom has officially acquired two major podcasting companies: Pineapple Street Media, and Cadence13, to create what the company feels is a powerhouse podcast division under RADIO.COM.

“Today marks another transformational event at Entercom and we are thrilled to welcome the outstanding teams and content partners at both Pineapple Street and Cadence 13,” Entercom chairman president and CEO David Field said in a statement. “With these important acquisitions, Entercom will stand as a unique leader in the audio universe with both the greatest collection of premium, original local audio content along with the best national podcast content.
