CNN is terminating its relationship with Kathy Griffin following Griffin’s photo shoot stunt involving the severed head of Donald Trump.
Griffin had been a part of CNN’s New Year’s Eve programming, alongside Anderson Cooper. The 2016 edition, 5 months ago today, was the 10th annual Cooper-Griffin Times Square pairing.
Last night, CNN told us it was evaluating its relationship with Griffin, but was “pleased” she’d apologized for the stunt. “We found what she did disgusting and offensive,” a CNN spokesperson said. This afternoon, a tweet announcing they are cutting ties:
CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program.
