CNN.com To Offer Ad-Supported Video

“CNN is within weeks of announcing the first in a series of moves designed to transform the network’s online video strategy and tap into the money pool for internet video advertising,” PaidContent scoops. “The biggest change: CNN will move to a hybrid model from the current premium-only stance it has maintained since launch in early 2002, offering ad-supported video through CNN.com. The service was slated initially to launch in February but was pushed back to allow for some refinements. The move should make CNN a major player in the increasingly important video advertising segment; look for the network to place ads around clips and to create as much inventory as possible.” (Via Lost Remote)
