CNBC was the top network in Nielsen’s highest median income categories for March 2008. CNBC’s $83,000 figure for the 5amET-7pmET “business day” in the A25-54 demo put it #1, with CNN and Fox News tied for fourth (at $68,000) and MSNBC tied for seventh ($63,000).
In Total Viewers, CNBC was also first, with MSNBC tied for sixth and CNN and Fox News tied in 12th place.
Bloomberg and FBN, the main CNBC competitors, are not yet full service clients of Nielsen and their figures are not released. Bloomberg placed #1 in Most Affluent Audience in the 2007 Mendelsohn survey that ranks all cable networks.
> More from a network insider: The “business day” measurement is not used by any cable network except CNBC.
> Update: CNBC was also the #1 network in median income for total day in the A25-54 demo.
