CNBC & NYT Team Up

CNBC announced this morning that they have entered into an agreement with The New York Times.

As part of the deal, CNBC will provide content and multimedia features from CNBC.com to NYTimes.com and The New York Times will provide print and online coverage from the newspaper and its Web site to CNBC.com.

CNBC president Mark Hoffman says the agreement “brings together two leading news organizations offering more original content and coverage to our audience.”

In his story on the deal The NYTimes’ Richard Perez-Pena writes about the emerging business news threat from News Corp. and its purchase of current CNBC partner The Wall Street Journal as well as its new business channel.

Brian Steel, CNBC’s VP for PR, tells The Times the threat posed by News Corp. did not enter into today’s announced deal.
