Univision News anchor María Elena Salinas (right) is among the 2015 Walter Cronkite Award winners for excellence in political TV journalism. Salinas has been recognized for an immigration special report. Judges praised the “balanced and revealing” reporting from the point of view of families in their countries of origin. Univision News also won a Cronkite award in the National Network Programming category in 2013.

Dina Gusovsky and CNBC.com were recognized for the “hard-hitting” documentary Death & Dishonor: Crisis at the VA, which exposed problems at the Veterans Affairs healthcare system. Gusovsky was praised for “putting the focus on an extraordinarily important national problem that nobody else was looking at,” judges said.

The awards, presented biennially by the Norman Lear Center at the Annenberg School at USC, will be presented at the National Press Club Friday, May 15.
