CIA Leak Case Special On MSNBC Sunday

By Brian

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, who has watched special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation like a hawk, will host a “Hardball Special Report: Unraveling the CIA Leak Case” Sunday night at 7 and 11pm.

“The special will discuss the indictment of Vice President Cheney’s Chief-of-Staff, Scooter Libby, the Bush administration’s pre-war intelligence claims, and how the White House cited faulty intelligence linking Saddam Hussein with the events of 9/11 and the build up of the war,” the P.R. says. Guest will include Jim VandeHei, Michael Isikoff, Andrea Mitchell, and David Shuster.

> Update: 9:39pm; The special “features some lengthy taped reports that will string together questions about Cheney related to the CIA leak case and related to pre-war intell claims,” a tipster says. “The talking head segments are only half the show…the other half is straight hard hitting reporting.”

> Update: 9:40pm: A skeptical e-mailer says: “Can’t wait for that incredibili-ity panel! Andrea Mitchell can’t remember why she said what she said when she said it (see Don Imus interview) and she is going to discuss the CIA source?”
