Celebs in Front, Pols Upstairs

By Chris Ariens

A TVNewser tipster (who was seated in the mezzanine of the Kodak Theatre last night) noticed something interesting at the debate.

While most of the celebrities (Rob Reiner, Diane Keaton, Steven Spielberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Stevie Wonder, Jason Alexander, etc.) were in orchestra seating, some politicians, including former Gov. Gray Davis and Rep. Jane Harmon were seated in the first balcony. Not all politicians were upstairs, however. LA mayor Antonio Villagairosa was front and center.

When asked about who decided on seating arrangements, a CNN spokesperson told TVNewser, “It was a team effort with all the partners.” CNN, The LATimes, Politico and the Democratic Party were allowed blocks of seating. Who invited whom, is not known.
