We have come to expect the unexpected from President Trump. Eight days after canceling the highly-anticipated U.S.-North Korea summit last week—citing “tremendous anger and open hostility” from the North Korean side as the reason for doing so— the commander in chief called an audible today, and announced that the summit is back on for Tuesday, June 12 in Singapore.
CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor will lead the network’s coverage for all broadcasts and platforms from Singapore starting June 10.
Glor will also anchor Evening News from Singapore on Monday and Tuesday, and will lead CBS News’ Special Reports for coverage surrounding the summit and contribute coverage to CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 streaming news service.
A busy few days for the man.
A team of CBS News correspondents, including chief White House correspondent Major Garrett and CBS News foreign correspondent Ben Tracy will contribute from Singapore. Face the Nation moderator and CBS News senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan will also provide reporting and analysis from Washington. Additionally, CBS News correspondent Steven Portnoy will report from Singapore for CBS News Radio.
On CBS News Radio, Glor will co-anchor CBS News on the Hour with Jeff Glor at 5 p.m. ET on Monday. Radio will have also special coverage from Portnoy and Don Kirk in Singapore; Lucy Craft in Tokyo; and Jason Strother in Seoul.
