CBS News Streaming has tapped a former CNN+ staffer to lead its streaming Washington D.C.-based coverage.

Allison Sandza joins CBS News Streaming as executive producer for streaming Washington coverage, starting Sept. 19. Sandza joins CBS News from CNN where she was supervising producer for The Source with Kasie Hunt on CNN+. Before CNN she spent five years at NBC as senior producer for Meet the Press.

CBS News streaming chief Anthony Galloway shared the news with staff on Monday, saying in a memo, “This newly-created role serves the dual purpose of working with bureau correspondents, producers and off-air journalists to amplify the bureau’s reporting across the stream throughout the day, as well as leading our flagship politics show, Red and Blue,” said Galloway.

Prior to NBC News and Meet the Press, Sandza was based in Austin, where she produced Overheard with Evan Smith for PBS stations and covered state politics.
