Cavuto Bought Ailes’ Condo For $525k

“Did Fox News Channel business news star Neil Cavuto outfox the network’s big boss Roger Ailes?

Sure seems that way when you check Palm Beach County property records,” Page Two of the Palm Beach Post says.

“The anchor of Your World With Neil Cavuto in April 2003 bought Ailes’ 2,100-square-foot, 24th-floor condo on Singer Island for $525,000. It wasn’t a steal, even if similar 2-bed, 3-bath digs one floor under Cavuto’s at the oceanfront Martinique sold for $670,000 three months later.

But this is where it gets good. Ailes bought the place in 1987 for $310,000. He made just $215,000 in the 16 years he owned it. If he were to sell today, however, Cavuto could more than double his cash — in less than three years. Realtors on Riviera Beach’s posh island tell Page Two the cheapest luxury condo in the neighborhood goes for $1.1 million.

Now, that’s a return on investment…”

> Update: 3:25am: The story continues: “Neither man replied to interview requests, but a Fox source told Page Two that Ailes’ condo was for his use when he visited his mom in Palm Beach. Ailes decided to sell after she passed away. ‘Neil happened to like the area, and they made a deal,’ the spokeswoman said.”
