Cable Nets Covering Atlanta Shooting

The cable news nets are scurrying to cover the Atlanta courtroom shooting this morning. Fox News Channel was first to break in with the news, at 9:30am. CNN followed at 9:35 and MSNBC reported it at 9:36. FNC took advantage of great footage from their local Fox affiliate, WAGA-TV. One insider suggested it must be another tough morning at CNN’s Atlanta headquarters, after being beaten by FNC in their hometown.

CNN’s headquarters are less than a mile away from the courthouse, so correspondents have been calling in with updates. (Daryn Kagan interviewed one of the carjacking victims at one point.) The affiliate coverage — especially Fox’s WAGA — has been top-notch. As of 11:30am, it’s the top story on all the cable news net Web sites…
