Bush Helps Install House From ‘Humanity Plaza’ After ‘Today’ Interview

President George Bush and First Lady Laura Bush spent an hour with Matt Lauer on this morning’s ‘Today.’ The press release says they helped “with the installation of a house that was built last week on ‘Humanity Plaza’ as part of Today’s ‘Make a Difference Today’ effort to help rebuild the Gulf Coast.”

> Associate producer David Gelles blogs: “President Bush arrived at our location in Covington just a few minutes before we went on the air. He and the first lady wanted to get down to work helping out on the Habitat for Humanity home…”

> “The President committed no serious news, but he did laugh at a lot of the questions (for reasons any student of George W. Bush would well understand), and he did allow himself to be shown hammering purposefully,” ABC’s Note says.
