I thought the e-mails would stop, but they haven’t. Aaron Brown‘s departure from CNN has truly hit a nerve. Some examples:
> BringBackAaronBrown.com is promising to hand-deliver a petition to CNN’s NYC headquarters this month…
> David e-mails: “Hearing the news that Aaron is being replaced by Anderson, I predict that it won’t work for long, ratings will drop, and Anderson’s youthful zest will not be able to carry it alone; he simply doesn’t yet have the weight.”
> “Good Ship CNN Drops Anchor,” Newsweek’s Newsmakers column says, “and guess who walked the plank?”
> Harry Shearer: “The Most Trusted Name in What, Again?”
> A message on Shoptalk: “CNN — like so many other news organizations — is fixated on somehow changing the way news is disseminated — in a desperate attempt to lure younger viewers. The plain truth is this group of 20 somethings is NEVER going to watch TV as its parents do.”
