Brokaw on Couric: “I Think That They Made a Number of Mistakes”

By Chris Ariens

The Boston Herald’s Jessica Heslam talks with NBC’s Tom Brokaw about his former colleague Katie Couric on the news of her possible departure from CBS. “I think that they made a number of mistakes in terms of how they marketed her and what their approach to the news was,” Brokaw said. “But the last thing I’m going to do is get involved in Katie’s business.”

Brokaw was in Boston for the 100th Anniversary Edward R. Murrow Memorial Conference. Speaking about the CBS News legend, Brokaw said, “He had a great way of presenting the news, and so people felt engaged by him. Same way with Walter Cronkite or any of those successful people.”
