On tonight’s “CBS Evening News,” Bob Schieffer, who was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2004, will share his experience with the disease and his mission to raise awareness about it. “Nobody likes to talk about it for all the obvious reasons,” Schieffer says in a preview CBS posted online. In March, Harry Smith underwent an on-air colonoscopy to address the serious risks of colon cancer, with some encouragement from “Evening News” anchor Katie Couric.
