Bill O’Reilly Makes Presidential Debate Predictions

By Mark Joyella

In an interview on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday night, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said in Monday’s first presidential debate, the candidates should talk policy, and avoid the insults.

O’Reilly, who said the debate “is going to be fun” predicted the first face-to-face clash between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will be a huge draw. “It’s going to have huge ratings.”

Noting that Trump won the Republican primary debates by hitting his opponents with brutal put-downs, O’Reilly says that won’t work on Monday night. “If he starts that with Hillary Clinton, ‘You’re crooked. Crooked Hillary,’ He’ll lose. That’ll be the end of him,” O’Reilly said. “On the other side, Hillary Clinton is calling him all kinds of names. Misogynist. Racist. If she starts that, she’ll lose.”

“If (Clinton)’s smart on Monday, she’ll get right into policy, and then look at him and go ‘Do you know what I’m talking about?’ Because maybe he won’t,” O’Reilly said. “She knows who the leaders are, what the vibe is.”

O’Reilly said both candidates have clear weaknesses–and that will make the debate “fascinating” to watch.
