A Bernie Sanders comment at a democratic debate in October has set a record.
“People are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails,” Sanders said to his opponent Hillary Clinton during the first democratic debate Oct. 13.
33,500 Tweets were sent in the U.S. following that comment, making it the top Tweeted moment of all the primary debates. This, and other stats, have been compiled by Nielsen as part of the top social moments of the 2015-16 TV season.

That CNN debate in October, the first of 8 democratic debates, generated the most tweets, followed closely by the first CNN GOP debate on Sept. 16.
The Aug. 6 GOP on Fox News, which was the most-watched cable news program ever, aired before Nielsen’s TV season measurement began on Aug. 31, 2015. That debate generated 3.3 million tweets and 674,000 unique authors.
