Barbara Walters Home from the Hospital

Barbara Walters is at home after more than a week of hospitalizations.

Despite running a temperature, Walters, 83, traveled to Washington, D.C. — her choice — for ABC’s coverage of the inauguration. Earlier reports had Walters tripping on some steps and cutting her head during a reception at the British Ambassador’s residence Saturday. But she told Cindy Adams a different story: “Had I missed a step, I’d have put my hand out automatically to help protect myself. But I did not misstep. What happened was, I fainted.” After being hospitalized in Washington for several days, the transferred to a hospital in New York, she was diagnosed with chicken pox.
