Eric Avram has been named executive producer of Special Units, reporting to EVP Dave Davis. Avram will continue to oversee the Medical, Business, Polling, and Law & Justice Units of the news division. New duties include responsibility for coordinating booking efforts as well as overseeing the Bob Woodruff unit.

Eric Avram has accepted a new position as Executive Producer of Special Units, reporting to Dave Davis. In his new job, he will continue to oversee our Law and Justice, Medical, Business, and Polling Units. In addition, Eric will assume responsibility for coordinating our efforts to book interviews across the division and will oversee the unit we have put together to support Bob Woodruff.
Eric has done an excellent job with each of the units he’s run — starting with Law and Justice and steadily expanding over time. He’s demonstrated his strong reporting skills, his appreciation for the role of booking in our reporting, and his keen understanding of the need to support all of our programs and outlets, including our new digital endeavors. Eric will be working closely with David Reiter, our Executive Editorial Director, to ensure that the special units are even more closely integrated into our breaking news and news coverage efforts.
