Remember the Australian “Today” anchor who wore the same suit every morning for a year to make a point about sexism? Karl Stefanovics got global attention for the stunt, but perhaps far more importantly, he appears to have boosted his second-place morning show’s ratings in the process.
The Herald-Sun reports the average audience for Nine Network’s “Today” for the first nine days in December was 20,000 more viewers than the show had for all of November. And rival morning show “Sunrise” on Seven Network had a downturn–22,000 fewer viewers. (“Sunrise” remains in first place for year-to-date ratings)
