August Ratings: CNN’s Most Primetime Gains in Demo

By SteveK

CNN and Headline News showed strong gains year-to-year during August. CNN grew 34% in Total Viewers and 48% in the A25-54 demo compared to last August in prime time (M-SU).

The average was certainly helped by historic DNC ratings last week. For the first time ever, CNN topped all broadcast and cable networks at 10pmET, with a four-day average of 5.6 million.

On Thursday specifically, CNN’s primetime average in the A25-54 demo was the highest of any national convention in cable news history.
