Attorney General Holds Press Conference on Bombing Attempt Suspect

By kevin

This afternoon, Attorney General Eric Holder held a press conference in Washington announcing that the suspect in the failed Time Square bombing attempt will face terrorism and WMD charges. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, FBI Deputy Director John Pistole, and NY Police Commissioner Ray Kelly also spoke. (Holder’s remarks here.)

The presser took place just a short time after President Obama addressed the suspect’s arrest during remarks to the Business Council earlier today.

From 1:20pmET until nearly 2pmET, Brian Williams anchored a special report for NBC with Andrea Mitchell and NBC News terrorism analysts Michael Sheehan and Roger Cressey. NBC took the full news conference and had additional analysis afterward, and Williams’ report was simulcast on MSNBC. During the Obama statement, it was ABC and CBS who broadcast special reports.

CNN and FNC also carried the presser in full. From the business networks, Bloomberg and Fox Business carried the conference from 2:20 until just after 2:30pmET.
