Arthel Neville Joins ‘Geraldo At Large’

Arthel Neville has been named west coast correspondent for “Geraldo at Large,” Fox announced on Friday. She will join the show on its 100th episode, airing Monday, March 20. (Exactly one year ago, Neville was named west coast correspondent for A Current Affair, shortly before it went off the air.)

Anyway, according to IMDB, Neville has had a complicated career. She launched “Extra” in 1994 and has worked on “Good Day Live” and “Fox Files.” She anchored “Celebrity Spotlight” on Fox News before 9/11. In 2002 she became host of “CNN TalkBack Live.” She has played newscasters and reporters in a variety of TV shows and movies, including “Moesha,” “Cybill,” “Monk,” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”

Geraldo Rivera says Neville “is a passionate storyteller, one full of style, poise and star quality. She has the grit to chase a story down no matter the obstacles and tells stories with passion that evokes powerful emotions from those who find themselves in the midst of a news fury.” What the hell does that mean?

> She recently started a Katrina charity called “Arthel’s Angels…”
