cnn130Antoine Sanfuentes will be joining CNN as Senior Supervising Producer, overseeing coverage of the White House and Congress. TVNewser has obtained the following email that was sent by CNN Washington bureau chief Sam Feist to staffers.

We are thrilled to announce that Antoine Sanfuentes will be joining CNN as our Senior Supervising Producer, overseeing CNN’s coverage of the White House and Congress as leader of our newly combined White House and Capitol Hill beat. Antoine comes to us from NBC where he worked as Managing Editor, Washington Bureau Chief, Deputy Bureau Chief, White House Producer and was part of the NBC News team that won the 2008 Emmy Award for Election Night. He started with NBC News in 1990 after graduating from American University.

Antoine is a journalist’s journalist. He knows Washington inside and out and he knows how to manage reporting teams both from the field and from the bureau. He has covered every president from Clinton through Obama; he has produced more interviews with presidents than we can count; he has overseen major foreign trips for NBC and for the network pool; and he has produced untold numbers of presidential addresses. As bureau chief, he oversaw all of NBC News’s Washington Coverage, including The White House and  Capitol Hill.

For those who know Antoine and have worked with him before, you’ll also agree that he’s a terrific colleague and just an all around great guy. CNN is lucky to have him join our team. Antoine will report to Adam Levine and starts officially on January 5th.
