Anderson Cooper on Moderating the Debate: ‘I’m Just Glad It’s Over’

Appearing as a guest co-host on Live with Kelly Ripa Wednesday, CNN’s Anderson Cooper was asked about moderating the town hall presidential debate, alongside ABC’s Martha Raddatz. “I’m just glad it’s over. I’m glad my debate is over.”

Cooper said he prepped for weeks to develop questions for the debate, with the last week being “the most intense.” His objective was “not to have the story be about you the next day.”

Ripa confessed to eating an entire pizza and drinking half a bottle of red wine during the debate. “So did I, during the debate,” Cooper joked.

Cooper also discussed the breakout star of the debate, the red-sweater-wearing undecided voter Ken Bone. Cooper said he and Andy Cohen are taking their road show to St. Louis next week, and “I’m hoping Ken is going to come. I called him.”
