Anchors Know How To Get to Sesame Street

By Alissa Krinsky

NBC’s Brian Williams and CNN’s Anderson Cooper are both scheduled to pay a visit to Elmo, Big Bird and the gang with upcoming Sesame Street appearances. USA Today reports that Williams will guest on Monday (word of the day being ‘squid’), with Cooper leading a ‘newscast’ on October 16 with “grouchy anchors Walter Cranky and Dan Rather-Not”.

“I have a mild form of dyslexia, and I had a reading problem (as a child),” Cooper says. “So for me, Sesame Street was vital.”

“Both Cooper and Williams,” the story continues, “say the show is in a league of its own. ‘I’m in a business that is an example of how sometimes the tried-and-true formulas are the best,’ Williams says. ‘Sesame Street speaks to that adage.'”
