Analyzing Potential NBCU Bidders

By Chris Ariens

Since the news broke last week, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the potential sale of all or part of NBC Universal to Comcast. Forbes analyzed some of the potential bidders and there were certainly some surprising — though improbable — challengers:

Disney (DIS) or News Corp. (NWS) could also consider buying some or all of NBC Universal. Both own broadcast networks, and it is against FCC regulations for any company to own two networks. But they could deal for other parts of NBC Universal, and they might make waves with regulators to block a deal. Probability of challenging Comcast: longshot.

Time Warner Cable and John Malone‘s Liberty Media also appear on the list.
