Al Jazeera English Expands Digital Access In U.S.

By Mark Joyella

Al Jazeera announced Wednesday it had resumed U.S. access to the network’s Al Jazeera English service, by providing free streaming on AlJazeera.com and other streaming services.

“We are delighted to bring this independent and thought-provoking content to the U.S. market,” said Giles Trendle, acting managing director of Al Jazeera English.

“Al Jazeera’s mission is to provide an unfiltered perspective on the most important events happening around the world,” said Mustafa Souag, Al Jazeera’s acting director general. Unlike the huge infrastructure that was built up to bring Al Jazeera America into daily production before it ended operations in April, Al Jazeera English can stream in the U.S. far more easily.
