Aftermath: Praise For John Roberts

By Brian

CBS deserves some credit for their Katrina aftermath coverage, Ed e-mails. “I’ve been watching them since Katrina hit, and it should be noted that John Roberts, Mark Strassman, Jim Acosta and Tracy Smith have been solid since the beginning. They didn’t fly home for a weekend off in New York, only to fly back in yesterday. Instead, they’ve been there since the start. Roberts is basically anchoring the “Evening News” each night from NOLA while Bob Schieffer does cleanup in New York.

Les Moonves may think Roberts is predictable and not worthy of the anchor slot, but any correspondent that can jump from the White House beat to cover a papal funeral, London Tube bombings and now a massive hurricane is certainly talented and deserving of an anchor role.”
