Aftermath: “I Try Not To Get Too Emotional,” Rick Leventhal Says

By Brian

Reporters-showing-emotion is a definite trend and a great story for TV writers. But as Neal Justin says, “it’s important to note…that the overall coverage was conducted by cooler heads” — as it should be. FNC correspondent Rick Leventhal says this disaster is one of the worst he’s ever seen, “but he’s not going to get weepy about it on the air.”

“I try not to get too emotional,” he said from a satellite truck in Mississippi. “I don’t want to be a robot, but I don’t want to be too over the top so that I lose my grip. I don’t feel it’s my role to cry.”
