Aftermath: “Catch-22” For Survivors

By Brian

Bill Hemmer has been anchoring FNC coverage from Baton Rouge this week. Here’s what he told viewers this afternoon:

“We saw the people go back into their homes yesterday and these long lines of traffic especially in the area of Jefferson Parish. We’re hearing today that the lines are so long and the traffic is so clogged up on the street that literally hundreds of energy trucks, electricity mechanics are literally unable to get around to the affected areas. There is truly a catch-22 happening down there. You want to allow these people to go back to their homes. You want to allow them to inspect the damage, to take personal belongings out of the homes as they see fit but still this massive recovery effort is still in progress and also a dozen parishes in southeastern Louisiana are still under that mandatory evacuation order.”
