ABC ‘World News’ Introduces In-Break Teases

ABC News is now running promotional teases during paid advertisements. The one-line teases promote upcoming stories in the newscast including last night’s “Mystery Ride: Why Did A Man Ride On The Hood Of A Car?” and “New Movie Magic: Watching Movies in 4-D”

Cable business networks often run news around commercial spots. Cable news channels often do so on election nights or other ongoing news coverage. But this is the first time we’ve noticed one of the big three evening newscasts promote their upcoming stories as commercials air. ABC, which has been running the in-break teases since early May, tells us advertisers are fine with it.
